Christine Sweeney

Christine is a photographer and photo-embroidery artist whose practice explores the intersection of images and textile arts. Maintaining a self-directed photography practice from an early age, after relocating to London in 2019 she resumed her practice with renewed vision and passion. She has refined a visual language centred on people, art, design and nature and her photographic observation stands on its own as fine art in all genres.

She also incorporates her photographic observation with traditional embroidery techniques using collected vintage and contemporary textiles. Her intentional stitches, enhance and extend the image beyond its original frame, complimenting the image and creating bespoke artworks.

Christine has been commissioned to undertake select portrait and lifestyle shoots.

Christine's photography has been recognised locally and internationally and her photography and photo - embroidery has been exhibited in Australia.
